• In October of 2002, a Tampa doctor agreed to pay the U.S. government $600,000 for fraud. The doctor and his wife were accused of overbilling Medicare from 1993-1998. A former associate of the doctor reported the fraudlent actions to the FBI and has since received over $90,000 in rewards in addition to his attorneys fees.

 

 

 

 

 

 

• In October of 1995, Frederick C. Copeland, a machinist at Lucas Industries P.C., informed the U.S. government that Lucas failed to properly test military airplane parts and knowing shipped defective parts to the Army, Navy, and Air Force. As a result, the government recovered $88 million, and rewarded Mr. Copeland with $19.3 million for his actions.
